Today I Fly, But Do I Arrive?
Today I Fly, But Do I Arrive?
Today is Thursday the 5th
Today is the day I fly to Japan. My fight is to leave at 11:44 am, and I am to arrive in Japan 10 hours later, at around 10 pm today—or was it 2:30 pm Tomorrow?
Its fun to think that I will be starting a new day when I arrive in Japan, but those of my family in America will start just heading off to bed to get ready for the next day
I woke up at 5:30 am of course, even though I did not need to wake up for at least another two hours. But when your this excited, what can you do.
The hotel we decided to stay at did not happen to have
a refrigerator nor a microwave, so I can say with
confidence, that I am a little hungry this morning
with the grumbles.
On the bright side, I do not feel tired as of yet, and I hope this feeling prevails throughout the rest of this day.
-6:33 AM
I went down to the hotel lobby at 7:15. I was suppressed when I went downstairs of the hotel I was staying at and that they didn’t have much to eat. While hotel food doesn’t tend to be very good, I thought they would at least have Jelly or better cereal choices.
I have never been in a hotel where they didn’t have hot water and hot chocolate mix, nor one without a soda machine—however they did have good apple juice. For the same price and basic location, La Quinta (which I can see from my window) seems to be better than Day Inn.
The Airport
My mom and I rode the shuttle from the hotel to the airport at 8 am.
Then went and got my baggage checked in.
We didn’t have to wait in line, which was kind of funny, because right when we got there, a whole bunch of people came and got in line behind us.
We also stood in line for the personal item check area together
which was less of a "line" and more like doing the Conga
Then we were forced to part ways.
By 9:00 am I had bought and eaten a Subway sandwich.
At 9:20 am I bought a drink and some snacks for my flight.
Then I started my walk toward the gate for my plane.
I arrived at my gate by 9:50 am, which was quite far away,
as shown by the fact it took me a half an hour to get there.
Since it is 1:55 am in Japan right now,
I’m gonna’ say that this is the end of the 5th of July.
Next time I write I’ll be on Japan time.
