When researching multiple programs,
I learned that every program had a different time frame for when summer starts and ends, which made it a challenge to find one that didn’t overlap with my colleges fall or spring quarters. The KCP summer program starts on July 6th summer 2018 and ends on September 20th. Western Washington Universities’ summer starts in June, and Fall Quarter starts on September 26th in 2018.

The KCP program is an 18-credit course, which is about the same amount as a full quarter at my school, helping me fill up the elective credits I need for my Japanese Major.

KCP also has 6 language level classes, that have transfer equivalencies toward certain classes at my college for my Japanese major. This means that when I take their placement test if I get into level 4 and I pass the class, I can skip Japanese 300 and 301 at Western Washington University, and instead just start in 303, allowing me to take more classes in their place and to complete my majors and minors faster.
KCP international is good at answering questions you have, so don’t be afraid of emailing them. If you need them to do anything for you for scholarships (I needed a letter from them for the Gilman scholarship I received) just email them and they are happy to help.
Academic Credit
When you are participating to receive academic credit the email reference is sent directly from your professor/academic advisor. As for your transcript, they need the official copy, and they prefer the physical version.

Once accepted into the program, you will receive an email with a link (that I think was password protected). On this webpage, you are to download the Registration Packet. The Registration packet is 11 pages long, and 10 of the pages must be sent in as soon as possible.

Registration Packet

You can send your money with the registration packet or send it later
my due date for money was May 7th
You need
Passport photos
(like 5)
a Doctors checkup
(in which they will fill out in one or two of the packets pages)
They do not have meal plans,
so even if you check “meal plan” you will not get one nor be charged for one.
The Acknowledgment of Risk is incorporated into the agreement.
There isn’t a specific paper in the Registration Packet that corresponded to the Acknowledgment of Risk section to be checked off.
Why Did I Pick KCP?
Why Did I Pick KCP?
KCP's classes are located in Shinjuku while their dorms are located in Ikebukuro. This means that every day I would have to take the half an hour commute on the subway system to get to the school from the dorms or take the roughly one hour and a half walk.
